Thank you for your kind reply to my email - I will drop in from time to time to say hello and see any news developments

I drive a 2005 Citroen C4 VT, although it has undergone a fair amount of modification

I am interested in changing the colour of my dashboard, and I have noticed the thread (in Romainain) on your forum..if anybody can provide English instructions I would be grateful!

How did you lowered it? It seems to be lowered in the last pictures.

Many of us are interested in changing the color of the dashboard.
In 2 words, (nd I know it is not enough), you must pull out(gently ) all the screens and change the leds. I don't know exactly how can you do this at home, but for sure at some specialists you can do this. Maybe if you have some electronics knowledge you can change them pretty easily.

Is it a 1.4 16v?

Yes the car is lowered - by 30mm. A kit was made available in the UK pretty soon after the car was launched. It cost roughly Ł140. It doesn't make a high difference to the ride height but the car is a lot stiffer and you can go into corners with more confidence.

As for the dashboard...yeah I know it will be a difficult job - I am not skilled in this kind of thing, but if a guide was to become available I might be able to convince my brother to take up the challenge!

I believe you have a 1.4 16v as well? Can you tell me....a few of us UK C4 owners are experiencing problems when driving - when the clutch is pressed in (and when changing gear) we get a "knocking" noise from under the gearbox. Unfortunately the Citroen dealerships over here aren't much help.

No matter what gear you change?
I had a problem with my clutch but only in the first and reverse gear. They have changed then the entire clutch kit...
I will come back later to you and explain how this problem of mine was reproducing.

Can you please tell us more details about that kit of yours that lowered the car?

It varies, depending on what gear you are in, the temperature of the engine etc. It happens as well when we touch the accelerator..I have a feeling it has something to do with the gearbox linkage rocking and hitting the exhaust?

As for your question - I'm not sure what more I can tell you - If I remember rightly the kit is a "Spax" one, available from many UK/online dealers. It cost roughly Ł140 and was easy to fit, although I got a friend to fit it! It has lowered the car 30mm all round, and give a much firmer and stiffer ride.

They are 18" Oxigin Crystal Alloys. 225/40/18 Tyres.

i see u have changed your front parking lights with orange ones. i would be most gratefull if you could tell me how to change them & the model of light bulb you used there. it fits perfectly with the greenish light of the headlamps (are they original xenon, or some aftermarket product...evetually what is their "heat signature" (i dont know the term used for thier light index, ie: 6000K, 8000K, 12000K)
it seems that u have changed the car somewhat like i would want to do it.
what is the name of the rims? they look great. i found a replica, i think, of that model

Hi T.rac3Er,

Yeah I have fitted an after-market Xenon kit to my C4 - I'm dont quite remember what temperature it is...but I think it is probably 6000k.

yes, many thanks for the links. we are kind-of at the begining, and try to evolve very wide comunity asap. our cars are diferent, and we also want to be diferent. well, the problems seem to be the same, so no difrence there (wished we had diferent problems, but nooo)
if our c4-bretheren from other countries invite us to theis comunity only gives us hope, for a better future for ur beloved cars, and their customization...

-also i have a question for you : in uk if you make some changes on your car (i`ll give an example - u change the lights - and u put xennon ) you lose the car guarantee ?? ( you know u have 2 years guarantee )

Thank you for your comments.

In regards to your question - any changes I make to the car could invalidate the car's guarantee, but to be fair my dealership are as good as gold and have never once mentioned any of the changes. They could for example refuse to change misfunctioning pieces of the suspension by laying the blame at my lowering kit, but they haven't complained once. I know some dealerships aren't as kind though!

I lost my guarantee for the suspension, because I have 17 inch whells! So, it is all about luck with the dealer!
