Acest proiect nu este insa primul in ce priveste Fiesta Super 2000. In urma cu 2 ani, Ford Australia a incercat sa contruiasca un model Fiesta dupa regulile Super 2000 prin converitrea unui Fiesta S1600 achizitionat din Italia. Operatiunea a reusit, insa masina nu a concurat decat in acel sezon.
Noul model va fi omologat de FIA din 1 ianuarie 2010 si Malcolm Wilson doreste ca masina sa ruleze in mana pilotilor privati inca de la inceputul sezonului viitor in Cupa S2000 din WRC.
Fiesta S2000 vine dotata cu un motor 1998 cc I4 Duratec S2000, care scoate la inaintare nici mai mult, nici mai putin de 280 CP la 8000 Rpm. Toate acestea combinate cu o cutie de viteze manuala, ambreiaj AP, frane Brembo imense care, ca si jantele, isi schimba dimensiunea in functie de asfalt sau pietris alcatuiesc "Ce n-a vazut Parisul".
